VINTAGE MUSTER 2

 27- 30th August 2026
image.png

Vintage 1/10 off road competition and fun event where we celebrate an era of iconic cars and the stories that have stuck with us for 3-4 decades. (A non - trophy event, however every entrant will receive "something" to remind them of how much fun they had!!

An exciting new format that ticks all the boxes......keep reading.

Designed to encourage members of the passionate RC community to come back to a place where their RC journey began. To experience the joy of running their favourite vintage cars.  To walk through the pits and see something unique, talk with old race buddies, and maybe even experience some good old-fashioned tussles on the track.

We are not racing for trophies peoples; we are racing for the joy of it.

But let's be honest, we want to see close tyre to tyre racing on track, we want to see the passion come through, we want to see and hear the laughter on the drivers stand, and we want to see and feel the spirit of sportsmanship throughout the event.

There are classes for all in this event. Our club meets have a ‘Run for Fun’ class which is not present at this event, however, we have created the “Stockman” class for pre 1987 2wd’s and for pre 1987 4wd’s – the focus will be on fun, but the racing will be as it was back in the day.

This year we have introduced 2 *NEW* classes. "Gold-Pan" - RC10 and "Shot" class.

Class 7. “Squatters”  (2WD Hornet Evo Class)

Fun class designed to showcase the recently released Tamiya Hornet Evo. Heaps of vintage fans owned a Hornet as their first rc buggy and when news hit of a chassis update, the masses swarmed to buy a Hornet with suspension geometry and shocks, that actually work!

Doesn’t take much to twist the arm of a vintage fan. We just have a few rules to keep this class fun.

Hornet Evo Class Rules:

● No mods, no aftermarket parts! That means no upgraded shocks, springs, or anything that didn’t come with the kit.

● Motor: You must use the original Mabuchi motor that came with the kit. No swaps allowed!

● Wheels & Tires: You’re sticking with the kit-supplied front and rear wheels and tires. No upgrades here either.

● Battery:  7.2v Nimh/Nicd pack, or 7.4v Lipo pack

What You Can Change:

● Paint & Decals: Go crazy! Paint your body however you want and deck it out with whatever stickers you like.

● Shock Oil: Use any brand of shock oil you, but please use the kit pistons

● Servo Saver: Feel free to swap in a compatible/better servo saver if you need to.

● Pinion Gear: You can swap to the optional 18t pinion gear for a bit of extra speed, but will it be faster around the track ?!

● Speed Controller: You’re allowed to use any compatible speed controller you prefer.

Class 8. “SHOT”  (4WD hotshot chassis)

This year we will be introducing the "Shot" class. This class brings arguably the most iconic 4WD RC to the track, completing against all its variants.

Hotshots, Super Shots, Boomerangs, Big Wigs, Super Sabres - all welcome

SHOT Class Rules:

● Silver Can motors, That's it.

Yup, get your chassis mods from factory works, if you want throw on some JC Racing 2.2's.
