DIRT RACING
Dirt club racing and events on our very own track designed for vintage cars, close battles and laughs. The "Heavy D Dirt Track", named after club legend, David Guyatt, is located within the existing compound at Carole Park, right next to our Sic Surface modern outdoor racetrack.

See our calendar for scheduled race days and events.

The cars we loved back in the 80's and 90's have made a comeback; igniting childhood memories when legendary RC cars like Tamiya Hornets or Kyosho Optima's ripped up the dirt in the back yard or down at the local park.

With manufacturers bringing to market re-releases of the old favourites, and seasoned racers blowing the dust-off originals from 20+ years ago. Vintage racing is a great day out, hanging with likeminded friendly people having loads of banter and laughs,

Being a member of Chargers RC will entitle you to half price race fees on both tracks. Membership and race fee information is available on here..

Motors

Motor selection will be at the discretion of the driver HOWEVER, a fast modified motor will not help you get around our tight and slippery dirt track. Having a fast modified motor is more likely going to result in a broken car and probably an expensive fix. Not to mention ending your fun early.

Below are the motors recommended for most classes. Refer to specific classes above for more details.

-
Original factory supplied or Johnson/Mabuchi silver can
-
Tamiya Sports & torque tuned
-
2WD/21.5T or 4WD/17.5T brushless/Blinky

* For events classes we will specify motor types.

For 2WD Competition Racers, consider a 21.5T motor.
For 4WD Competition Racers and Truckers, a 17.5T brushless motor would be a good option.

Transponder

Our LiveTime scoring system will only identify MyLaps RC4 generation transponders. AMB, AMBrc and non-MyLaps branded transponders (e.g. MRT) are not supported at our track.
