Event Location

Chargers RC is located within Andre Rippoll Park in Carole Park, QLD with direct roadside access from Cobalt Street.  The address is 215 Cobalt Street, Carole Park Qld 4300.

Classes

There will be a class for every 1/10th EP off-road car from the 1980's through to modern day racing.

PRE-2000 (Vintage)

  • 2WD Run for Fun

  • 4WD Run for Fun

  • 2WD Competition

  • 4WD Competition

  • Stadium Truck

  • Shelf Queens (not a race, but an opportunity to run them on the track and admire them going around)

2000-2015 (Outlaw)

  • 2WD Buggy (Rear mount motor only)

  • Both Tracks open for practice 7 am -10 am

    • 10 am – Vintage Racing Qualifiers (Q1 - Q2)

    • 2 pm – Modern Buggy Qualifiers (Q1 - Q2)

    • 5 pm - Vintage Racing (Q3) under lights!

  • All 5-minute races

Saturday 1st July

  • 8 am – Vintage Racing Mains (2 - 3 Mains pending entries)

    • 11 am – Outlaw, Stadium and SCT (Qualifiers and Mains) 2 Qualifiers + 2 Mains

    • 2 pm – Modern Buggy Qualifiers (Q3 - Q4) finish under lights, approx. 6.30 pm

  • All 5-minute races

  • Show and Shine

  • Era Face Off​

  • ​RC Swap Meet

Sunday 2nd July

  • Modern Buggy's (SEQ 1/10 Offroad Cup) 

  • 8 am – Modern Buggy Mains (M1 - M3)

  • All 7-minute races

  • Dirt track will be open for fun.

Entries and Cost

Entries must be submitted via the online entry form by clicking the button above.  No paper form is available. Entries will be capped per class with remaining spots available displayed on the entry form.

Cost to race is as follows:

Vintage & Mini's (dirt track)

  • 1st class - $15

  • 2nd class - $10

  • 3rd class - $5

​

Outlaw & Modern (SIC surface)

  • 1st class - $25

  • 2nd class - $15

  • 3rd class - $10

​

Cost to have fun is FREE!!

​

Entry into the Modern Classes is for the SEQ 1/10 Off-road Cup Champion!!!

 

Payment can be made via PayPal (preferred) or Debit/Credit Card (PayPal portal).  Direct deposit is also available. Entries are unconfirmed until payment is received.

Race Format (subject to change, pending entries)

Qualifying (Vintage) Friday 30th June (Q1 - Q3) & Saturday 1st July (Q4)

  • 4 Qualifying rounds per class (best 1 qualifier result to seed Main)

  • 1 warm-up lap then 5 minutes per round + final laps 

  • Maximum 10 drivers per qualifying heat 

  • Staggered start

Finals (Vintage) Saturday 1st July (AM)

  • 2 Mains per class (excl. Mini) (time permitting)

  • 1 warm-up lap then 5 minutes per final round + final laps

  • Maximum 10 drivers per final 

  • IFMAR rules to determine winner (single best result)

Qualifying and Mains (Truck and Outlaw classes) Saturday 1st July (PM)

  • 1 Qualifying round per class, 7 minutes, staggered start (result to seed Main)

  • 2 Mains per class of 5 minutes

  • 1 warm-up lap then 5/7 minutes per round + final laps 

  • Maximum 10 drivers per qualifying heat 

  • IFMAR rules to determine winner (single best result)

  • IFMAR rules to determine winner (best combined finishing positions (top 2, drop worst))

Rules

Pre-2000 (Vintage)

  • Run for Fun and Shelf Queen

    • Motors can be 27T brushed, Johnson or 21.5T brushless​

    • Blinky

    • Open tyre

    • Reverse Allowed!

  • Competition and Stadium Truck​

    • Motors can be 23-27T brushed (Tamiya sport tuned etc, Johnson), or 17.5T brushless

    • Blinky

    • 2S LIPO

    • 6-cell NIMH, NICD

    • Open tyre

For the pre-2000 (Vintage) era, you are allowed to rotate your cars; run what you like in each heat/final.

2000-2015 (Outlaw)

  • Maximum 13.5T brushless

  • Open brushed

  • 2S LIPO

  • Open tyre

  • 2WD - rear motor mounted

Transponders

MyLaps Gen 4 only

Our LiveTime system will only identify MyLaps RC4 generation transponders (see RC4 and RC4 Pro below).  AMB, AMBrc and non-MyLaps branded transponders (e.g MRT) are not supported at our tracks.
